Your Will
In Turkey there is no law to insist on a will to be written, however we would strongly advise that you have a will written here in Turkey. A will from your own country does not stand here, contrary to what a solicitor at home might tell you. They are trained in the law of their own country, not Turkey.
Even if you are married, if there is no will in place it is not as simple as spouse to spouse inheritance. All wills in Turkey are recorded on a national electronic database linked to passport numbers, in some cases a memory test is conducted to ensure that the people making the will are of sound mind. This may sound daunting but please do not worry, we will point you in the right direction and an official translator will accompany you throughout the process. This will all be done in a matter of hours.
